Meanwhile I also then found myself looking up the Sabian Symbols for World Mental Health Day, marked internationally on October 10th each year ie. occurring yesterday on a Friday this year.. the planet Venus also being the ruler of Friday, each day of the week being named after each of the traditional 7 planets.. Venus being the goddess of Love, including passionate love, getting to the heart of what one is most passionate about.. not only dealing with other people, since one could be in love with many things.. And as the revolutionary psychologist James Hillman said, it usually takes time for the Soul to fully reveal itself.. "the Soul needs time to come out of its shell".. Each of us being like a work of art that slowly reveals itself over time, like a lotus flower emerging from the mud, rising up through the water & eventually opening its petals.. as we come to deal with the questions, "Who am I?" And, "What am I doing here?" What do I truly love, or am most passionate about?" World Mental Health Day - 10 October - is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries. This day, each October, thousands of supporters come to celebrate this annual awareness program to bring attention to Mental Illness and its major effects on peoples' life worldwide. Here you sit reading an astrology book. Your mind is intent on it. Presumably you are calm, reasonably comfortable. You forget your birth. Your death is an abstraction down the road. Somewhere between the two, you are floating along, taking what comes & making the best of it.
But think, you live on a planet hurtling around a gargantuan nuclear bomb. Million-ton stones blast randomly around you at hundreds of miles per second. You are protected only by a thin haze of gas. And within that airy shield, you share living quarters with madmen bent on destruction. Some have .38s. Some have neutron bombs. And even if you escape them, it does not matter: you are bound to a physical body as doomed & fragile as an orchid in a buffalo stampede.
That knowledge frightens us. We would rather not look at it. So we make our plans, buy our life insurance policies, & avoid thinking the unthinkable. But what if we dare to think it? What if we have the courage to undo the taboo surrounding death? What happens then?
Like the person sharing a sleeping bag with a scorpion, our priorities are clarified. The future disappears. The past evaporates. We are utterly focused on the present moment. Nothing else matters. And in that present moment, all our posturing & politeness, all our phoney, comfortable answers, are stripped away. Only truth remains. Like never before, we know who we are & what we want.
Should that scorpion crawl out of the bag & off into the desert, maybe the nightmare turns out to be a blessing. Maybe we carry some of that honesty & intensity & clarity forward into our lives. Maybe we are less likely to get strung out over an irredeemable past & a chimerical future.
That is the Scorpion's endpoint. To live with that kind of intensity. To burn away all pretense. To let nothing be hidden behind walls of fear. To make the Unconscious, Conscious.

Yes, the brilliant comedy of the absurdities & rigidness of the modern rationalistic Ego-mind, that is only the tip of the Whole of Consciousness, which includes the greater depths of the Unconscious mind.. Comedy as the Divine vehicle for exploring or exposing the Shadow side of human nature, & of also showing the Shadow in all things, including showing us the Shadow side of each of the ancient gods & goddesses, sill alive & well in the modern psyche, since they are each inherently a part of the Whole natural psychic world itself, despite our modern rational minds eternal protests that there are no "Gods" etc..

This is a question of ‘Cosmic chemistry.’ Do science and God mix? It has become accepted wisdom that science and religion represent two incompatible ways of viewing the world.
John Lennox, however, is a mathematician from Oxford and a Christian. If you’re an atheist like Richard Dawkins, Stephen Hawking, Chris Hitchens, Peter Singer, Freud or Lawrence Krause, you’ll be diametrically opposed to his ideology. Dawkins states that “God is a delusion ... like Santa Claus,” whilst Hawking claims that “religion is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark.”

And then on the next day, the Gods created James Hillman one of the modern worlds great heretics, writing books like ’Suicide & the Soul,’ & his master work, "Re-Visioning Psychology".. at http://www.amazon.com/Re-Visioning-Psychology-James-Hillman/dp/0060905638.. then later the book ‘The Soul’s Code’.. And here he calls for us all to re-imagine the world or Cosmos in the form of the ancient Greeks polytheistic mind.. And here we have another argument of the Monotheistic mind versus the Polytheistic reality of the great multiplicity of life.. Science is another form of monotheism, like all the great monotheistic religions, Darwinism, or Capitalism or whatever.. Plato in the myth of Er talks of the Demiurge, creator of all things.. What a great imagination the Greeks had.. And then we have the many Gods such as Apollo, the Sun god, ruler over the daylight Consciousness & the Heroic Ego.. Artemis, one of many Moon goddesses, ruler over the night realm of dreams etc.. Artemis, a fierce Hunter, protector of women & children.. The Lunar deities offering a different form of Consciousness. And Venus, the goddess of Love & Beauty.. including Erotic love.. Mars, the god of War, the Warrior archetype.. Mercury-Hermes, the Messenger of the Gods.. Zeus, the King of the Gods, ruler over all the other gods.. Hera, his jealous wife, the Queen of Heaven.. Athena, the goddess of Strategy & Justice.. And Pluto or Hades, the Lord of the Underworld, ruler over all the other gods, even to whom the King of the Gods does not rule.. known as the “giver of riches,” & the ruler of life & death.. The Underworld relating to the deeper mythic or psychological realities of human nature, as discussed in Hillman‘s book ‘The Dream & the Underworld.‘ Pluto-Hades being preceded by the ancient goddess of Necessity, called Ananke, & to whom all must bow.. These are the “many persons” of the psyche.. Yet each of these gods, like ourselves are complicated & not perfect, they fight & argue with each other.. Hello the complexities of human nature & of life itself.. This relates to the deeper idea of “Natural Law” ruling over everything.. And so this could be related to the concept of a “God” in a monotheistic sense..
And meanwhile all these gods being the many differing aspects of the human psyche or Soul.. the psychological archetypes within the psyche or Soul.. And each god has its Divine or natural place or function within the Whole.. There are many gods to whom we are each orientated to gravitate more strongly towards, in order to create the many hued-dome of the great multiplicity & diversity of human experience, perhaps all coming out of the One Divine mind in its desire for experiencing the Whole of reality of the infinitely creative mind of the Cosmos itself.. And we are all archetypally emerging out of the Piscean Age, the Age of Faith & Belief, the sign of the Two Fishes, beginning around the birth of Christ.. And this Piscean Age being ruled by the great monotheistic religions, Islam & Christianity.. the Two Fishes? The modern world being dominated by the Western Judeo-Christian Culture.. And so we must keep in mind that we are all deeply affected by the last 2000 years of this age.. But astrologically speaking it is only one of 12 differing worldviews, although it is also the final or 12th sign of the zodiac, suggesting a process of integrated Wholeness of the many multiple realities.. And so here we all are at the end of this Piscean Age while at the same time we are attempting to transition into the Age of Aquarius, the Age of the Mind.. And this more or less sums up our current dilemma..
While then there is the quote used by Hillman at the start of the book ‘Pan & the Nightmare’.. calling on Psyche’s “return to Greece”.. a return to the creative imaginal capacity of the Soul or psyche.. a call for a return to the poetic or Renaissance mind.. And as the poet John Keats said, “Call this world the vale of Soul-making”.. Then you will know the use for this world.. And then there is Shakespeare, “All the world’s a stage, & each in their time plays many parts”.. ie. perhaps this is hinting at the deepest truth of “reality”.. All must ultimately bow to the goddess Necessity.. And since Consciousness is only the tip of the totality of Consciousness itself, as revealed by the early psychologists at the beginning of this century with the concept of the Unconscious, the rational Ego-mind has to accept that the Consciousness mind is only a small part of a much deeper unfathomable reality..

In Jungian practice the words Shadow, Self, Ego, Anima, & the like refer to the structural components of the personality. The basic structures are always imagined to be partial personalities, & the interplay between them is imagined more as a fiction than in physics. Rather than a field of forces, we are each a field of internal personal relationships, an interior commune, a body politic. Psychodynamics becomes psycho-dramatics; our life is less the resultant of pressures & forces than the enactment of mythical scenarios. Moreover, these components of personality, playing through their archetypal scenes, which we call our life problems, receive personal pronouns. We speak familiarly of them” “She - the mother complex, paralyses me.” “He - the father complex, never stops driving me, he wants me perfect.” And we wrestle with a concealed counter personality whom Jung named Shadow because we keep him in the dark; he must shadow our life which his surreptitious intentions. Jung called these figures “The little people.” Yet even in spite of this tongue-in-cheek kind of naming, he recognised that they are more important in steering our fate than is our usual “I.”
As Jung refined his insight into these complex persons, the persons of our complexes, he discovered that their autonomy & intentionality derives from deeper figures of a far wider signification. These are the archetypes, the persons to whom we ultimately owe our personality. In speaking of them he says “we are obliged to reverse our rationalistic causal sequence, & instead of deriving these figures from our psychic conditions, we must derive our psychic conditions from these figures.. It is not we who personify them; they have a personal nature from the very beginning.” By the founding of the psyche upon personified structures - rather than upon concepts borrowed from the sciences or philosophy - even Jung’s meta-psychology remains psychology. He never deserts the psyche in search of explanatory principles outside its own imaginal world. We are always talking about persons even at their most abstract level of discussion, for these foundations, too, are archetypal persons.

Yes Megan Washington, as a Capricorn Sun, born January 7, 1986 - apart from being extremely attractive, in a kind of slightly impish way, & whom I also recall watching her deliver a TEDx talk in Sydney on her lifelong struggle with being a successful singer while also hiding the fact that she is a stutterer.. The Neverending Story
Bastian, a quiet boy who loves to read, is accosted by bullies on his way to school. He hides in a bookstore, interrupting the grumpy bookseller, Mr. Koreander. Bastian asks about one of the books he sees, but Mr. Koreander warns him it is "not safe." Nevertheless, Bastian "borrows" the book, leaving a note promising to return it, and races towards school. He then hides in the school's attic to begin reading The Neverending Story.
Atreyu's quest directs him to an ancient being called Morla that resides in the Swamps of Sadness. Though AURYN protects Atreyu from its effects, his beloved horse Artax is lost to the swamp. Atreyu continues through the swamp, and is surprised when Morla reveals itself as a giant tortoise-like being. Bastian, reading, is also surprised and lets out a scream; when he continues reading, Bastian is curious that Atreyu and Morla appeared to have heard his scream. Morla does not have the answers Atreyu seeks, but directs him to the Southern Oracle, ten thousand miles distant.

TRANSITIONS FROM BLACK TO WHITE sometimes go through a series of
other colors, i/ notably darker blues, the blues of bruises, sobriety, puritan Self examination;
the blues of slow jazz, ii/. Silver’s color was not only white but also
blue. Ruland lists 27 kinds of blue-colored silver. Norton writes (HM II:45): “Silver
may easily be converted into the colour of the lazulite, because… silver,
produced by air, has a tendency to become assimilated to the color of the sky.” iii/
So strong is the association of blue with silver and whitening, that even when
modern chemistry disputes alchemical testimony - deriving a blue pigment from
silver treated with salt, vinegar, etc., it assumes the alchemists had some to-us unknown
physical justification for their claim. iv/ Is not the claim based rather on
fantasy, a sophic silver of a whitened imagination which knows that blue belongs
to silvering, and therefore sees it?
The blue transit between black and white is like that sadness which
emerges from despair as it proceeds towards reflection. Reflection here comes
from or takes one into a blue distance, less a concentrated act that we do than
something insinuating itself upon us as a cold, isolating inhibition.
This vertical withdrawal is also like an emptying out, the creation of a negative capability, or a
profound listening — already an intimation of silver (Spr. ‘80, pp. 41-44, silver
and sound).
These very experiences Goethe associates with blue v/:
…blue still brings a principle of darkness with it... As a hue it is powerful,
but it is on the negative side, and in its highest purity is, as it were, a
stimulating negation. . . a kind of contradiction between excitement and
repose.
As the upper sky and mountains appear blue, so a blue surface seems
to recede from us.
… it draws us after it.
Blue gives us an impression of cold, and thus, again, reminds us of
shade. We have before spoken of its affinity with black.
Rooms which are hung with pure blue, appear in some degree larger, but
at the same time empty and cold.
…objects seen through a blue glass [are] gloomy and melancholy.
Sadness is not the whole of it. A turbulent dissolution of the nigredo can also
show as blue movies, blue language, l’amour bleu, blue-beard, blue murder, and
cyanotic body. When these sorts of pornographic, perverse, ghastly, or vicious
animus/anima fantasies start up,vi/ we can place them within the blue transition
toward the albedo. Then we will look for bits of silver in the violence. There are
patterns of self-recognition forming by means of horror and obscenity. The Soul’s
putrefactio is generating a new anima consciousness, a new psychic grounding
that must include underworld experiences of the anima itself: her deathly and
perverse affinities. The dark blue of the Madonna’s robe bears many shadows,
and these give her depths of understanding, just as the mind made on the moon
has lived with Lilith so that its thought can never be naive, never cease to strike
deep toward shadows.vii/ Blue protects white from innocence.
